JALT Hokkaido is pleased to announce two upcoming events in October, the 2008 JALT Hokkaido Language Teaching Conference and/or the 2008 CALL Workshop. The JALT Hokkaido Language Teaching Conference will be held on Sunday, October 19 at Hokusei Gakuen University, and the 2008 CALL Workshop will be held on Saturday, October 18 at Sapporo Gakuin University.
This year's theme is "Hokkaido Nabe - Helping Students to Help Themselves" and will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Robert Courchene from the University of Ottawa, speaking on "Self-Access Learning and the Learner," and Cynthia Keith, vice president of JALT National, presenting on teaching children.
Both events will offer presentations by teachers teaching pre-school, elementary, junior high school and high school, university, tertiary education, eikaiwa, older learners and test classes. Most presentation blocks are 45 minutes but some workshops may be longer.
The deadline for submissions has passed . All submissions will be vetted by the 2008 JALT Hokkaido Conference Vetting Committee and the results will be announced no later than August 29th, 2008.
