JALT Hokkaido Local Membership

Pay an annual fee of only ¥4,000 and you can become a local member of JALT Hokkaido. Local membership will entitle you to FREE entrance to all events put on by the JALT Hokkaido Chapter. Membership means you will be part of a group of teachers helping other teachers to become better teachers.

Annual local members of JALT Hokkaido will receive an official JALT membership card issued by the Central Office in Tokyo. However, local membership does not entitle you to the standard benefits and publications associated with JALT National Membership (see below). However, local members can subscribe to National Special Interest Group publications at a slightly higher fee by contacting the SIGs directly. If you are interested in becoming a Local Member of JALT Hokkaido, please complete the following form which will go directly to the officer in charge of membership. The membership officer will contact you in order to answer any questions you may have, and to recommend the best way to join our organization.  You can also simply show up at any meeting and talk to any of the officers helping at the reception desk.  It is very easy to process your membership and you will become a member of the JALT family at that time.

JALT National Membership

JALT National annual membership fees range from ¥6,000 for full-time students to ¥10,000 for individual memberships. Membership includes a monthly magazine, The Language Teacher, the semi-annual research volume, JALT Journal, discounts for conferences and SIG subscriptions and much more. National memberships can even be processed securely online using a credit card. Of course, national members can also attend almost all chapter meetings throughout Japan free of charge.
